How the peels work
ESF Clinical Corrective Peels use chemical exfoliation to accelerate shedding of the outer skin layers. Available acids include Glycolic, Lactic, Mandelic and Salicylic; each targets the surface differently. For established acne clients only, these peels are offered as a controlled, clinical step to improve skin appearance without replacing your ongoing acne plan.
The clinic’s intent is improved texture and a smoother-feeling surface: the new skin that follows superficial exfoliation is typically smoother and less wrinkled. Results vary by skin history and adherence to aftercare; we do not guarantee outcomes. Expect temporary redness or sensitivity as the skin responds to the treatment.
Treatment process in Ashburn
This service is an add-on for established acne clients and is applied during a scheduled clinical visit. The add-on appointment duration is 30 MINUTES. Your clinician will confirm suitability, select the acid, apply the peel in clinic, and review immediate aftercare instructions before you leave.
Because many clients travel through Dulles or commute on the Silver Line, we coordinate timing to fit busy schedules—after-work or weekend slots are commonly used. Bring your current acne products so the clinician can confirm ongoing compatibility with the corrective peel.
Choosing the peel type
Selection among Glycolic, Lactic, Mandelic and Salicylic depends on skin sensitivity, acne history, and your current treatment plan. The clinician evaluates these factors during your appointment and chooses the peel that balances effectiveness with tolerance. Every selection is made to complement, not replace, your established acne regimen.
Local climate and lifestyle affect aftercare: Ashburn’s humid summers and frequent outdoor activities influence hydration and sun-protection needs after a peel. If you have travel plans through Dulles or busy commuting days, discuss timing with your clinician so aftercare can be managed safely.
