Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to common questions about Sugaring Lip.

Most clients report only mild, short-lived discomfort — a brief stinging or tugging sensation. We use temperature-controlled paste and gentle technique to minimize pain. Topical numbing is rarely required but available on request for very sensitive clients.

Avoid exfoliating, waxing, or applying retinoids to the upper lip for two days prior. Leave hair about a quarter inch long so the sugar paste can grip. Arrive with clean, makeup-free skin for best results.

Typically results last three to six weeks depending on your hair growth cycle. Regular sugaring sessions can extend time between appointments as hair weakens and regrowth becomes sparser and finer.

Sugaring is generally safe for acne-prone skin because it removes hair and exfoliates gently. Our technicians avoid inflamed pimples and use gentle technique; however, if you have active cystic acne or open lesions we may postpone treatment until skin heals.

Keep the area clean and avoid heavy makeup, saunas, hot showers, or abrasive exfoliation for 24 to 48 hours. Apply a soothing, non-comedogenic moisturizer and sun protection if you'll be outdoors to prevent irritation and hyperpigmentation.

Sugaring works on most skin tones and many hair types, but extremely coarse or very fine vellus hair may respond differently. A quick consultation will determine suitability and the best approach for your hair texture and skin concerns.
