We typically recommend a series of 3–6 treatments spaced four weeks apart, depending on skin concern severity. Your clinician will create a personalized plan during consultation to achieve optimal pigment reduction and lasting improvement.

Most clients describe mild warming and brief snapping sensations. Topical numbing is usually unnecessary. Treatments are well-tolerated, and any transient redness subsides within hours to a few days. We adjust settings to ensure comfort for sensitive skin types.

IPL works best on Fitzpatrick skin types I–III for pigment and vascular issues. Darker skin types may require assessment and modified settings or alternative treatments. Our clinicians perform a thorough evaluation to determine safety and ideal protocol.

Initial improvements in redness and skin tone can appear within 1–2 weeks, with continued improvement over subsequent sessions. Pigment may darken then flake away; full benefits typically are realized after the complete treatment series and follow-ups.

Common temporary effects include redness, swelling, and darkened pigmented spots that shed over days to weeks. Rarely blisters or hypo/hyperpigmentation occur. Proper pre- and post-care, sun avoidance, and clinician expertise minimize risks.

Avoid sun exposure and tanning for at least two weeks, stop retinoids and certain exfoliants as instructed, and arrive with clean skin. Your clinician will review medications and recommend any temporary product changes to ensure safe, effective treatment.
