I came into this clinic as a student in college around six months ago in December having severe acne with cysts and inflammation. I started working with Gigi, and she has been an EXCELLENT specialist (and encourager and coach too!) and has significantly reduced my acne and inflammation to the point where my skin is now shining and clearer.

The clearer face is one thing, but what I really appreciate is the level of guidance they've given me in my nutrition too. I feel like I've gotten a lot healthier, and Gigi has been really helpful in helping tailor my diet to have clearer skin as well. I struggled with hormonal and comedonal acne for 7 years and saw dermatologists twice, but both times I was prescribed harsh actives that damaged my skin barrier and made my skin even more sensitive. After my first visit here, I enrolled in their Acne Bootcamp, followed the recommended diet, and committed to bi-weekly treatments. The results have been amazing, my comedonal acne cleared, and my skin is now so much healthier after 2 months. Even after the bootcamp, my skin is still good by keep using their products. Will waxing or threading cause my skin to break out?

Both can cause reactions if skin is sensitive or hygiene is poor. We perform pre-screening, use sterile tools, and apply soothing post-care to reduce breakouts. Avoid exfoliation and harsh products immediately after. For acne-prone or inflamed skin, we will recommend a tailored method instead.

How long does hair stay away after waxing or threading?

Typically hair remains smooth for three to six weeks depending on area and individual growth cycle. Facial hair often returns sooner than body hair. Regular appointments can weaken follicles and produce finer regrowth. Hormones, medication and genetics affect timing, so we tailor scheduling to your needs.

Is threading or waxing better for sensitive skin?

Both methods can be adapted for sensitive skin; threading uses no chemicals and offers high precision, while gentle wax formulas remove larger areas quickly. We assess skin sensitivity, recommend a patch test, and choose a method or combination to minimize irritation and ensure the most comfortable result.

How should I prepare before my waxing or threading appointment?

Arrive with clean, dry skin free of oils or heavy products. For waxing, hair should be about a quarter-inch long; threading needs visible growth. Avoid exfoliation, chemical peels or retinoids two days prior, and skip sunbeds or heavy tanning to prevent irritation.

Will hair grow back thicker or darker after treatment?

Contrary to myth, waxing and threading do not make hair grow back thicker or darker; hair is removed from the root and often regrows finer over time. Hormonal changes can alter hair density. If you notice unusual growth, we’ll evaluate causes and recommend appropriate treatment options.

How do you treat immediate post-treatment redness or irritation?

Minor redness and bumps are normal. We apply calming antiseptic gels, cool compresses and recommend fragrance-free soothing creams or aloe. Avoid hot baths, heavy exercise and exfoliation for twenty-four to forty-eight hours, and use SPF when exposed. Contact us if swelling, severe pain or pus develops.
